GREAT MOODBOARD OF REFLECTION!
Distorted Reflection
Gutierrez is a professional photographer currently living and working in Spain. His work caught my eye because it is very simple but creates an amazing picture requiring lots of creativity, I especially like how is work is I'm black and white because I feel it contrasts with the water very well.
INCLUDE A SHORT SECTION ON ANTONIO GUTIERREZ - HIS IMAGES AND DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE ONLY.
STRETCH - YOU CAN DESCRIBE THE INDIVIDUAL IMAGES, SAY WHAT YOU LIKE ABOUT IT AND HOW YOU WILL USE THIS TO INFLUENCE YOUR OWN SHOOT.

Here are some of the final pictures from my shoot.
VERY WELL DISTORTED REFLECTION IMAGES! INCLUDE WWW AND EBI OF THE ENLARGEMENTS HERE.
WWW: I am very proud of my distorted reflection shoot. I think the black and white edit makes the the image look much better.
EBI: To improve my shoot I could have cleaned the mirror and cups that I used to create a cleaner and clearer image.

Mirror Reflections
Sebastian Magnani
Magnani is a swiss photographer who professionally became a photographer in 2011 after discovering his passion for it whilst training as a media designer in 2006. Magnani is well known for his reflection work in which he puts a mirror on the floor and takes a picture from above it capturing the background and the reflection on the mirror perfectly.
I was tasked to recreate his work using the same technique of placing a mirror on the floor and capturing the reflection. Two challenges I faced during this shoot were getting the mirror and the background both in focus and taking the picture from directly above the mirror without getting the camera reflecting in the mirror.
GOOD, HONEST ANALYSIS. |
WWW: I think this shoot went well because the locations I shot in are well chosen because the colours of the background and the colours of the image reflected in the mirror work well with each other. I also think this shoot went well because I got a lot of pictures for the task.
|
EBI: If I were to reshoot to improve my work I would focus more on getting both the background and mirror in focus.

Reflection of colour
German artist Tamara Lorenz creates various constructions which she photographs to exploit their abstract properties. Her use of strong colours creates contrast in addition to those of line, shape, texture and tone.
COMPLETE YOUR ARTIST SECTION HERE In class I tried to incorporate her style in to a similar piece of work.
My aim for this task was to create symmetry reflection and I feel my work is a clear representation of my initial intentions and aim. - INTRODUCE THE TASK AND YOUR AIMS

3 Strands
Distorted Reflection
WWW: In my opinion this shoot went very well. This is because the bowl I filled with water magnifies the part of my models face behind it. I experimented with this by magnifying the models nose, mouth and eye. Another WWW was the background because it is very smooth and puts the main focus on the magnification.
|
EBI: I could've experimented with multiple bowls but other than that this shoot was perfect.

Replicated people
Anthony Goicolea is a first generation Cuban American artist and photographer now living in Brooklyn. I am particularly interested in Goicolea's work where he replicates multiple versions of himself into one image. I like these pictures because there is a lot of freedom in personalising them and the background of the picture can be anywhere depending on where you want it to be.
This is my work in a similar style to Goicolea's work. During this task I faced a few problems when combining the two images on photoshop. This included the lighting being slightly different in the two pictures and also the two images were in slightly different places which made it much harder to edit. Apart from this I feel this final image is good and projects my final intentions but I think there is room for improvement.

Image 3
This is my second attempt at my replicated people task. I chose to shoot this on theses due to its vibrant colours and because it is a public place where multiple people would sit down. When using photoshop I used the same method as my first attempt but this time with a third picture also to improve my final image I increased the vibrance to enhance the brightness of the colours on the bus.

Tyler - respond to all red feedback and when you've done that, please turn my comments to green so I see what you've improved.
With any edits you have done and that you will do, show your Photoshop screenshots and explain how you've edited your work. If you forgot to take them, explain the process that you used.
In your Reflection of Colour - you have 2 examples of your paper cuts - please explain how you edited this in Photoshop and why the editing looks better and include www and ebi for this section.
Remember to show your Photoshop edits from your first Distorted Reflection shoot and your Halloween Shoot and go back and further edit the Halloween image by cropping some of the final image on the right hand side.
Also include an artist section on the work of Tom Hussey above these images and www and ebi for this shoot. As you only have 2 strands right now, why don't you use this project as your 3rd strand.
Really fun distorted reflections for your first strand - put the enlargements below your photoshoot. I also need for you to write the intentions of your shoot on top of the contact sheet and to evaluate your 3 images - www, ebi. Is there any way that you can further edit them? Remember - Photoshop screenshots.
Each shoot needs to have a short section on your intentions, which comes before your contact sheet of that shoot. For example, after the Anthony Goicolea research section, include your intentions for your work - what are you trying to achieve and how does it relate to Reflection?
As I mentioned to you in class, I think it would be interesting if you created a short GIF of Blake on the bus, just as a really quick development.
What other kinds of scenes or scenarios could you create? It would be very interesting for you to do something with your boxing - maybe you're fighting with yourself or a friend of yours is fighting with him/herself. Think of any scenario where you have 2 people that are doing something - then, if you use the same person to illustrate this scene, it's as if you're creating a mirror reflection.
Create a new artist section on the work of Paul M. Smith - he's very similar to Anthony Goicolea but uses different scenes and then include a new shoot.
Then, create a new artist section on the work of John Deakin's Double Exposures - see images below. I think you'll be able to create a new set of images using these concepts and how he created them.
With any edits you have done and that you will do, show your Photoshop screenshots and explain how you've edited your work. If you forgot to take them, explain the process that you used.

Last idea - check out this film by Gillian Wearing. It would be great if you could make a similar kind of film for your very final piece.
