Yowa Yowa levitations pictures
Yowa Yowa is a Japanese photographer who uses an optical illusion so that In her photos she is levitating, here are some of her photos from her website when she took one picture a day of her levitating for a year and put them all on her website. She produces these images by using a fast shutter speed so the image is not blurry, I think the photo in the top right is the best as she is right in the centre of the image and there are no hints in the photo that she is mid-jump as her hair is tied back and her clothes aren't loose.
Fix your capitals and punctuation please.
Explain how she produces these images. What are your opinions about them? Then say how you will use her images to inspire your own work.

Levitation
In class we tried to recreate Yowa Yowa's work to look like we were levitating. To do this we needed to tie up long hair, tuck in our clothes and keep our feet flat to make it look more realistic and give the illusion that we were levitating. In my opinion the best photo is the one in the top right as it looks the most realistic because my classmate kept his feet flat and a straight face. Next time we do this to improve my work I will try and get a better background and zoom in on the model more so there isn't as much empty in the background.
Good! Now, analyse your results. Which result is the strongest and why? Enlarge that image. Then, what could you do differently next time if you try this?

Zoom Blur
In class today we worked on taking zoom blur photos to give the affect that something is moving when it isn't. We did this by using a low ISO and shutter speed, just as I took the photo I zoomed out with the camera so it looks like they our coming towards me. Next time we do this to improve my work I will focus on making the models more in focus and leaving less empty background space.
Proof-read your work and ensure you've used punctuation correctly and that there are enough spaces between your sentences.
I really like the composition of the below images. But, the subjects are out of focus. Write about what needs improvement and how you could improve it next time.

Francesca Woodman
Here are some photos I took in the style of American photographer Francesca Woodman, she is known for her creepy ghost-like photos. She committed suicide at the of age 22 it was believed that she was suffering from depression and there were hints of this in her work. To take this photo move their body while only keeping one part of it still and in focus, you can see this more clearly in the fourth photo where I used photoshop to make it black and white and outline my classmates hands which is what he tried to keep still.
I love the last image you've changed to black and white. Now explain the steps you took to produce it and analyse the outcome.

In this image I can see a ghostly figure moving across an empty, abandoned room. Woodman is dressed fully in black to radiate a disturbing and unsettling feeling to the viewer. All of Woodman's photographs are in black and white and taken in deserted settings to give the effect of loneliness and depression.

Romain Laurent
Romain Laurent is a French photographer who was born in 1983.He studied design in Paris and since 2006 he has been working as a freelance photographer in the French capital.Laurent is known for is strange impossible gifs and for his work with some of the biggest advertisement agencies and fashion houses.
I made this GIF by taking four pictures of my classmate moving his head around in a circle. To turn the pictures into a GIF I went on photoshop and made the photos play one by one with a space of 0.2 seconds in between each one and this was the final product. If I was to repeat this task I would take more than four pictures of my model to make it look more realistic as i feel with the GIF i have just made there is a too big gap between each photo.
Light trails
In class today we used torches to create images around our model, to do this I put my camera in manual with the shutter speed on bulb and a ISO of 100.
Light Trails Second Attempt
Michael Bossanko
Michael Bossanko is a light photographer who uses torches and different coloured glow sticks to create amazing detailed images. Bossanko plans his work but he found out about light trails when he was photographing the night scape when he accidentally kicked his tripod over, when he look at the picture he noticed the moons light caused a streak across the image. Fascinated by this he used the moon as a light source and attempted to draw a picture by moving the camera by hand on a long exposure, this is when Bossanko started doing light trail photography. Here is some of his work.
Travelling without moving GIF
In this GIF I tried to make it look like my model is going into one wall and coming out another. I think this is one of my more successful GIF's because it is very clear to see the idea behind it and I made my model put his body flat up against the wall to give off the illusion that he is literally entering the wall.

Light Trail GIF
In class we were given the difficult task of making a GIF using light trails. At first I tried making a more complex GIF but it didn't work so I had to take the more simple option of making a box. To do this I took four photos of my classmate drawing a box with a torch starting with just one side of the box in the first photo and adding one more side of the box each time.

Movement Development
For the final part of my movement unit I had a choice to recreate one of the previous tasks and I chose to make another GIF. I think this GIF is more successful than my first one because it is more creative and much longer. Further more the background of the GIF is a carpark which fits in with the theme.
